Meet Queen Elizabeth I
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Queen Elizabeth I in our Coffee Shop this February Half Term.
This magical event will include the opportunity for your child to have their photo taken with Her Majesty and be inspired both by living history and traditional fairytales which form such a rich part of all of our early lives.
Local Historian Lesley Smith has spent the past 25 years inspiring children of all ages at Tutbury Castle. There is no doubt that Elizabeth I had one of the most profound effects on English and European politics of any British ruler. The Protestant queen in the cold bed was given a matter of months on the throne by Catholic observers of the day, believing she could not hope to survive. Instead, Elizabeth in fact went on to rule England for nearly forty-five years, mostly in peace. Her passionate belief in the English people and her lack of martial ambition combined with a brilliant mind and outstanding political skills made her hugely successful, confounding all of her critics.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance. To enable us to manage capacity, please select the total number of tickets, including all adults and children. To enable us to maximise space and the number of children that can meet Her Majesty, we politely request that you do not bring more than 2 adults to accompany each child.
