Renovation work was completed and the space was transformed into a multi-functional building that served the community at the heart of the city. Over the next two decades the space served the community in various ways.

Development
Plans were developed to revitalise the space by housing the local library downstairs and renovate the second level to an arts space. Work began to redevelop the space to hold the town library on the ground floor and an events space, gallery and treasury on the first floor.
