Transatlantic Folk Present… Songwriter Showcase

Featuring Robert Jackson, Danny Bradley, and the folk duo, Farefeld. **Please note that Jake Morgan will not be appearing as previously advertised**

Join us for an evening of song and storytelling from these three troubadours. They will take it in turns to share songs in-the-round (Nashville style), with each performer offering an insight into the backstory and creation of the songs. Audience members will also have the chance to field questions during the show.

Robert Jackson

With his stirring voice, wailing harmonica, and fingerpicking guitar, Robert Jackson is a dynamic singer-songwriter from Lichfield. He delivers a sound that pays tribute to the piedmont blues of Appalachia, merged with the more atmospheric stylings of English folk. Better known for his work with the transatlantic band ‘A Different Thread’, Jackson’s toe-tapping blend of folk, country, and americana has enchanted audiences from Berlin to New Orleans and gained the attention of both BBC and NPR radio. A poet and traveller at heart, Jackson’s lyrics deal with romance, reckoning, and the call of the open road.

Danny Bradley

Winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Judges Award 2021, Danny Bradley is a finger-style guitarist and songwriter who has opened for Martin Carthy, Jon Gomm, Tony McManus, and Jeffrey Foucault. Born in the USA, but having grown up in the UK, Danny Bradley “is less a one man band, and more a one man orchestra… A poetic soul, and a sublime vocal range, reminiscent of the late Jeff Buckley”. (Americana U.K.)
Danny is currently touring his debut solo album, ‘Small Talk Songs’.

Farefeld

Described by Bright Young Folk as “experienced storytellers” who bring “timeless quality” to their music, award-winning duo Farefeld (Chris Elliott and Caitlin Jones) have been playing music together since they met in 2014. Both proudly from Staffordshire, Farefeld brings a mix of traditional and self-penned ballads about place, identity, old and new. Expect to hear songs written for and collected from all around the Midlands and beyond, accompanied by the heartfelt human stories that inspired them, their charming storytelling and warm Midlands humour.
