The Lydia Rae Quartet
The Lydia Rae Quartet is a collection of the finest young jazz musicians from the Midlands who play a variety of classics from the Great American Songbook as well as originals by Lydia Rae. Each musician has their own speciality of genre, which is what makes the music so interesting when they play together.
With influences of jazz, gospel, progressive rock, classical and swing, they embrace a century of sounds from as early as the 1930s. Rae brings a welcomed element of storytelling to the jazz repertoire with no limit to the versatility of her vocal styles. Her dedication to songwriting combined with the quartet’s extensive background in multiple genres is a refreshing breath of fresh air for the jazz community.
