Lesley Smith: Witch of Manningtree
As Civil War raged across England setting brother against brother, far away from Lichfield in East Anglia, a dark man was seeking out witches to kill them – for a fee.
His name was Matthew Hopkins – the self styled “Witch Finder General”.
Come and meet one of the witches in this really eerie performance by Lesley Smith as she draws on three real court cases of the time and gives the audience the chance to meet an accused witch just after her “interrogation”.
After the performance, Lesley will give a talk on the lives of some witches. A real Halloween event, it is eerie, powerful and strictly for over-18s.
