Home: Zirak Hamad

As part of HOME – Lunchtime Concerts at The Hub, we’ve had a last-minute change to the originally programmed artist.

Joining us instead is Zirak Hamad – and we can’t wait to welcome him to our stage. Zirak is a musician, cultural facilitator and community leader originally from Iraqi Kurdistan, now based in the UK. Since 2002 he’s been sharing the rich musical traditions of the Middle East through immersive workshops and performances across festivals, schools and community spaces.
As founder and leader of Daholl Kurdish Band, he blends traditional Kurdish and Middle Eastern sounds with contemporary influences – expect rhythm, energy and a proper midday lift. He’s also the driving force behind Muzikstan in Birmingham, creating platforms for artists to celebrate culture and collaborate across communities.

This performance remains part of HOME – our new free lunchtime concert series bringing world music and international artists to The Hub stage.

Please note – Zirak Hamad replaces Millicent Chapanda in the Home series.

This is a Free Concert and a ticket is not required. Capacity is limited (first come, first served) and our coffee shop will be open before and after the concert. Seating will be a combination of seated at coffee shop tables and rows of seating. Latecomers will be admitted subject to space. We respectfully request that concert attendees limit noise during the performance.

The event is finished.
