The Budapest Café Orchestra
Founded in 2009 by violinist Christian Garrick, the Budapest Café Orchestra brings vibrant folk, gypsy and classical-influenced music, all performed from memory with wit and virtuosity.
BCO are a boutique band of four virtuoso musicians. They present music from all corners of the world in their own unique, fresh and surprising way. From Balkan and Russian traditional music to their artful distillations of Romantic masterworks to soaring Gaelic folk anthems, BCO is an infectious musical experience that will enter your bloodstream and stay there forever.
One of the UK’s busiest acoustic ensembles, they play around 75 shows a year, release annual albums, and are frequent guests on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune.
“Not so much a band name as a whole genre of its own,
Budapest Café Orchestra embraces an encyclopaedia of
music and mischief.” SCOTSMAN
“BCO are a tonic to the eardrums and boost to the
soul.” NME
“Absolutely acoustically electrifying!” Time Out
