A Flock of Stories- Family Storytelling Session
Animal stories from around the world performed by professional storyteller Maria Credali.
Before she was a storyteller, Maria was (and still is) a zoologist. She knows a secret or two about animals – don’t forget to ask her about when she was a lion tamer!
The whole family will be entertained with this delightful collection of traditional stories and riddles that celebrate the playful spirit of our furry and feathered friends.
Feel free to bring along your favourite animal toy to enjoy the show with you. And bring your best riddles to share too!
“Fabulously entertaining!”
“Transported to other worlds and places while playing with Maria’s stories and riddles – one of the best storytellers around,”
Tickets priced £5 for children (up to two free adults per child, ticket not required for adult).
Running time approx 75 mins. Age guide 5-10yrs (suitable for all the family).
Our art and storytelling exhibition ‘Once Upon A Time‘ will also be open after the storytelling session. More details here.
Check out a review for one of Maria’s recent storytelling events (Midlands Fringe) below:
“Maria Credali’s ‘Once Upon a Time’ storytelling show was a first-class performance from start to finish. From the moment she greeted the room, it was clear we were in safe hands. She built an instant rapport, inviting audience participation in true pantomime fashion, which drew laughter and smiles throughout. This wasn’t just light-hearted fun—it was a clever device. By involving us, Maria ensured we remembered the details of each story and connected more deeply with their meaning. The audience became part of the performance.
Her 45-minute set flowed effortlessly. Each story stood on its own, yet together they formed a thoughtful, engaging arc. Maria’s expressive use of voice and movement added colour and rhythm, and her delivery was both confident and natural.
A quick glance around the room confirmed the impact—people were leaning in, fully immersed. The content was suitable for all ages and sparked reflection as well as laughter.”
