A Different Thread
Embark on a transatlantic journey with Americana trio, A Different Thread. Fronted by Alicia Best from Durham, North Carolina and Lichfield-raised troubadour, Robert Jackson. The two first met busking in Ireland — a chance encounter that sparked a remarkable adventure across a dozen
countries, touring, writing, and living on the road.
The band weaves together elements of 70s’ folk revival, country, and Appalachian blues. Their original music is a timeless blend of hair-raising harmonies, mournful fiddle and harmonica, with stirring guitar and a suitcase drum-kit.
Now, anchored in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, they return to the UK to tour August – October 2024 and are crafting their next release, set for spring 2025.
