Inspire Xmas 2025 Whole Choir 1
Inspire Choir at the Hub

Inspire Choir is The Hub at St Mary’s resident auditioned choir. We’re a friendly, vibrant choir who’ve enjoyed singing together since January 2020.
The choir rehearses together every Tuesday at The Hub at St. Mary’s in Lichfield, led by Benjamin Hamilton, our dynamic musical director.

In addition to our weekly rehearsals, each term members come together for fun and memorable social events.

Rehearsals are fast and fun and leave members buzzing and singing their way back to the carpark! We sing a variety of musical styles from classical to pop, musicals to folk, arranged for SATB voices.

Achievements

Inspire Choir were again finalists in the Midlands Choir of the Year competition 2026! We had a blast singing at the Lichfield Festival in the Cathedral on Sunday, 12th July.

Inspire Choir were finalists in the Midlands Choir of the Year competition in 2024 and joint audience prize winners. The choir was honoured to perform at the Children of Courage awards in February 2025.

Performing

We hold our own concerts at the Hub in June and December, so get your tickets early as they always sell out!

For the first time this year, we added an afternoon Cream Tea concert on 29th March, which sold out and was much enjoyed by audience and choir alike.

Below are some recent recordings for you to enjoy. They are audio only but you can view the carousel of photos from the concert while you listen!

You can watch our performance at the Midlands Choir of the Year competition in 2024 by watching the videos below.

The Team

As part of the Hub at St Mary’s we are fortunate to have the Hub team supporting us. The choir is steered by a small team of member volunteers, along with:

Musical Director Benjamin Hamilton

Benjamin Hamilton is a sought-after choral and opera conductor and award-winning translator, passionate about using singing to give voice to everyone.

He works with singers of all ages and stages, from B:Music’s Workplace Voices and Ex Urbe Chamber Choir (and of course the fabulous Inspire Choir) to emerging opera artists through DEBUT’s Opera-in-a-Day series (recent productions include Carmen, Le nozze di Figaro, La traviata, and La bohème).

He has also been commissioned for the Royal Opera House’s Ballet and Opera Family Sundays and is editing the works of Welsh composer Margaret More. He is set to record Ethel Smyth’s Entente Cordiale as part of his mission to spotlight overlooked composers.
